13 Injured at Connecticut Festival After Swing Ride Loses Power

More than a dozen people, mostly children, were injured when they fell several feet after the swing ride they were on suddenly lost power at a community festival in Norwalk, Connecticut. Police say that 12 children and 1 adult were hurt in the accident. None of the injuries appeared to be life threatening. Witnesses say they saw the ride abruptly shut off and came crashing down around 2:15pm on Sunday. The ride was operated by the Stewart Amusement Company of Trumbull, which on its website, states that all ride are inspected daily. After the incident, all of the rides were shut down, but most did reopen for the final house of the festival.
