A Hurley man and his wife were killed on Sunday when their car collided with a truck that was transporting three cars on Route 209, according to the Times-Herald Record. The crash occurred around 11:40am. Preliminary results of an investigation indicate the driver of the car, John Kaufman, 88, pulled out of Wynkoop Road onto Route 209 and into the path of the oncoming truck. The driver of the truck had supposedly lost control of his vehicle and the three cars he was hauling were thrown from the carrier. Kaufman was pronounced dead at the scene. His wife, Anna Kaufman, 86, was airlifted to Albany Medical Center and was pronounced dead at 2:30pm at the hospital. The truck driver was uninjured. This is a terrible tragedy.
