Authorities are still investigating the tragic accident that claimed the life of a 5 year old child Sunday evening.
The incident took place on a dairy farm, located about 50 miles east of Rochester, in Galen, NY. According to reports, the child was riding a motorized scooter when he was hit by a tractor.
Most children find farm’s fun and fascinating; yet agricultural areas are amongst the most hazardous of all workspaces. Family members of farmers are also at an increased risk for fatal and non fatal injuries. According to the CDC 167 agricultural workers are hurt every day.
