Upstate New York Nursing Home Could Have Potentially Prevented Abuse

The results of a recent inspection report from an Oswego Nursing home, where residents were allegedly taunted and exploited, conclude the Nursing home failed to conduct background checks on new hires to determine if job candidates had a history of abuse or neglect.

The nursing home also failed to provide abuse prevention training and to properly investigate potential cases of abuse, neglect, and mistreatment.

According to Syracuse.com the nursing home was cited for 24 deficiencies in 2015 and 2016. The centers for Medicare and Medicaid services gave the facility its lowest rating, one star (meaning much below average).
