An early-morning crash on Route 9G was the fourth with a fatality in Dutchess County in a two-week span. On Sunday, October 13, 23-year-old Joshua Bohlmann lost control of his motorcycle as he was heading south. He crossed into the northbound lane and went off the shoulder near the Town of Poughkeepsie line. Bohlmann was taken to Saint Francis Hospital in the Town of Pouhgkeepsie, where he was pronounced dead. The crash was one of two serious motorcycle accidents in about eight hours. After 11am, a motorcycle on Route 308 struck a vehicle stopped to make a left turn in Rhinebeck. The operator of the motorcycle was sent to Saint Francis Hospital for treatment and evaluations due to a head injury. On October 6, volunteer fireman Joseph Zielinski, 25, died when his motorcycle struck a utility pole at Old Glenhman Road and Greenhill Drive. On October 3, Dee F. Dee, 42, was struck and killed by a 2007 Ford Focus in the Town of Fishkill around 10:30pm.
