Seven members of a family were injured in a head-on crash on State Route 209 on Sunday, July 21 when a Hyundai turned into their path in the Town of Wawarsing. The drivers of the Hyundai had attempted to make the turn around 5:38pm and struck the 2011 Odyssey carrying the family. He fled the scene and deputies are still searching for him. All seven family members were taken to Ellenville Regional Hospital and treated for lower back pain and facial lacerations. Deputies are still seeking any information regarding the identity of the driver of the Hyundai. The car wasn’t registered in his name and his passenger was only an acquaintance and didn’t know his full name.
