California Winemakers Sued Over High Levels of Arsenic in Wines.

A class action lawsuit has been filed in California against some of the countries top winemakers, over high levels of arsenic found in bottles of your favorite tipple.

The lawsuit claims that some of the nations most popular bottles of wine have up to four and five times the amount of arsenic recommended by the Environmental Protection agency (EPA)  for drinking water. A Denver laboratory also found that the cheaper the wine, the higher the level of arsenic.  Arsenic has been linked to many forms of cancer.

There is no basic federal requirement to tell customers what is in wine, and a lobby has been fighting for government action to require accurate labeling for consumers.
