Bladder Cancer Related Taking Actos – Drug for Diabetes

The latest Actos bladder cancer case commenced on January 21, in Western Louisiana with the process of jury selection. The case is Terrance Allen et ix. v. Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America Inc. et al (Civil No. 12-0065) and is part of the group of consolidated cases known In re: Actos (Pioglitazone) products Liability Litigation. The latest tally stands at about 2,800 cases in the multidistrict litigation (MDL) pipelines. There are more than 3,000 cases in total across the country involving bladder cancer as a result of taking the product Actos, a drug for diabetics. According to the complaint, the plaintiff Terrance Allen was prescribed Actos and used the product for about seven years, from 2004 until 2011, when Allen was diagnosed with bladder cancer.
