After years VA now considering PTSD as factor in discharges

By David O’Reilly:  Thanks to a federal lawsuit brought last year on behalf of five Connecticut veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), former Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel in September 2014, ordered all discharge review boards to give “liberal consideration” to applicants with claims of combat-related PTSD.  Last week, Yale Law School’s Veterans Legal Services Clinic, which represented the five plaintiffs, reported that the Army’s review boards are now finding in applicants’ favor in small but record numbers.
