A woman died on Friday, June 7, after she was hit and then run over by a pickup truck as she crossed Ballston Avenue. The woman, who was about 50, was using the crosswalk at the intersection of Ballston Avenue and Hamilton Street at 3:38 p.m. when a Ford F250 Super Cab pickup driven by Paul Nicholson II, 28, of Saratoga Springs turned right off Hamilton Street and hit her. The victim was unconscious when police arrived. She was taken to Saratoga Hospital with serious head and chest injuries, then sent by ambulance to Albany Medical Center, where she died. Nicholson was charged with felony first-degree vehicular manslaughter and misdemeanor driving while intoxicated. Nicholson is awaiting arraignment in City Court.
