VA removes first official under new firing rules, after two months of paid leave

By Josh Hicks, The Washington Post:  The Department of Veterans Affairs has fired the director of its Central Alabama health network, marking the first official termination under the agency’s new rules for removing senior executives over ethical and performance issues.
