Motorcycle Crash on Old Hopewell Road Leaves Man Seriously Injured

A Wappingers Falls man is in critical condition after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Old Hopewell Road and Cedar Hill Road on July 30. The operator of the motorcycle, William Conklin, 51, was taken to Saint Francis Hospital in the Town of Poughkeepsie for his injuries. The investigation found that a 2004 Acura, operated by Ingebrog Davis, 72, attempted a left hand turn onto Old Hopewell Road, but pulled out into the path of Conklin’s 1988 Harley Davidson when the two vehicles crashed. Davis was uninjured in the crash. It is not mentioned in the police statement if charges would be pressed against either driver. The accident remains under investigation.
