Hudson Valley DWI Crackdown Results in 16 Arrests

Law enforcement agencies in the Hudson Valley begin 2017 by cracking down on intoxicated and impaired driving. Officers in Columbia, Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester counties made 16 arrests in just one weekend. There’s no telling how many lives were saved or how many injuries were prevented due to their vigilant efforts.

The 16 charges ranged in severity, one drunk driver fell asleep on the Taconic State Parkway and was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor. A Fishkill man was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, also a misdemeanor. A Poughkeepsie man was charged with his second Driving While Intoxicated Charge, a Class E Felony.
