Car Accident: Yulan Girl Dies in Lumberland Crash

17-year-old Amanda Morabito died after the car she was traveling in on Saturday, July 6th hit a utility pole. At 4:30pm, a 1996 Honda Civic driven by Joshua Crespo, 18, was traveling northbound on County Route 31 near Glen Spey when it ran off the road and hit a utility pole. Morabito died of her injuries at Westchester Medical Center after being flown from the scene. She was sitting in the front passenger’s seat. Amanda’s sister, Ashley Morabito, 16, was taken to Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis, then flown to Westchester Medical Center, where she remains in critical condition. Crespo was also taken to Bon Secours, where he was treated and released. The cause of the crash is under investigation. This is a terrible tragedy.
