1,020,000 Settlement: Workplace “Clean Room” Toxic Exposure

Manufacturing computer chips is a highly precise job that requires a sterile environment known as clean rooms. While wearing protective suits, our clients began to smell a strong odor of chemicals entering the room. Each became dizzy and evacuated the room. The source of the chemical exposure was later determined to be from the room next door where nitrous oxide was allowed to escape into the duct work because the air handlers failed to activate the alarm notifying all of the chemical exposure. The result is each of our two clients suffered a pulmonary injury leading to lifetime breathing problems. The case was handled by Trial Partner Chris Camastro, who settled the entire case for $1,020,000 before trial.
