Pedestrian Knockdown on Newburgh’s Broadway Street

On February 26th a woman was severely injured when a vehicle struck her in the intersection of Broadway and Williams street in the city of Newburgh.

The victim, a 57 year old Newburgh woman was transported to St.Luke’s hospital and has since been released.

The driver, a 35 year old Newburgh woman fled the scene but later turned herself in. According to authorities the driver was unable to see the woman crossing the street because of morning glare, and fled the scene because she felt unsafe. She was charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury motor vehicle accident.
