Cornell Cooperative Extension of Saratoga Teen Driver Safety / CBS Drive Safe
We have teamed up with the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Saratoga and WGBR CBS 6 for 5+ years to participate in a “Teen Driver Safety” program. Each year we visit Saratoga County high schools to provide valuable information about the dangers of distracted driving. The Teen Driver program, led by Cornell’s Cynthia Dort, is just one facet of Cornell’s educational system that enables individuals to improve their lives and communities. The organization works to prevent serious injuries through various initiatives, including bike helmet safety programs, child passenger safety programs, “Alive @ 25”, and Districted/Defensive driving classes.
National Night Out
“National Night Out” is an annual community-building program designed to promote safety and police-community partnerships. “Millions of neighbors take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August. Neighborhoods host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and various other community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits and much, much more.”-NNO.org
