Hudson Valley SPCA

The Hudson Valley SPCA is a no kill animal sanctuary “dedicated rescuing, sheltering and defending animals while actively seeking loving, forever homes for them”-HV SPCA. We are proud to have donated goods to this outstanding organization.

Food Bank of the Hudson Valley

The Food Bank of the Hudson Valley, a branch of the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, strives to alleviate hunger throughout the Hudson Valley. According to the organization’s website, “… the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley in conjunction with the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, serves over 1,000 member agencies in 23 counties from the Canadian border to the border of Westchester county.” The Food Bank of the Hudson Valley is one of various organizations that our employee’s donate time to through our staff Community Service Program.

Legal Services of the Hudson Valley

The Legal Services of the Hudson Valley (LSHV) provides free, high quality legal counsel of civil matters for individuals and families in need. Finkelstein & Partners has been a longtime supporter of the LSHV. In 2017 the organization selected Managing Partner Andrew Finkelstein and Finkelstein & Partners, LLP their honorary “Champion of Justice.”

 

Northeast Gateway to Freedom

Newburgh’s Northeast Gateway to Freedom provides local youth with valuable experiences designed to nurture positivity and growth. The organization offers a variety of services, including mentoring, internships, and daily meals.

St. Francis Deacon Jack Seymour Food Pantry

St. Francis Deacon Jack Seymour Food Pantry, located in Newburgh, is a division of the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley. St. Francis Deacon Jack Seymour Food Pantry is one of various organizations that our employee’s donate time to through our staff Community Service Program.

 

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity “is a nonprofit organization that helps families build and improve places to call home. We believe affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities”-Habitat.org. Firm staff, including Melody Gregory, have been enthusiastic participants in various Habitat for Humanity events.

 

Habitat Re-Store

The funds raised at the Habitat ReStore go directly towards building houses for those in need. The success of the ReStore is contingent upon the efforts of trustworthy and dedicated volunteers. Mary Randall, a Finkelstein & Partners, LLP employee of 30+ years volunteers every Saturday at the Newburgh Habitat for Humanity Re-store.

Literacy Connections of the Hudson Valley

We have been long time supporters of Literacy Connections of the Hudson Valley, a charitable organization that provides literacy support to adults and children throughout the Hudson Valley. As part of our Community Service Program, our staff volunteers weekly at Newburgh area schools, helping students strengthen literary skills and build confidence.

 

Boys and Girls Club of Newburgh

The Boys and Girls Club of Newburgh provides valuable support to Newburgh youth and offers a variety of programs for children and teenagers. “We support a child’s vital developmental years, through programs in the arts, academics, health and life skills, and sports and fitness. Additional programs in character and leadership development, as well as education and career development, foster vital skills as older children prepare for adulthood.” –NBCNY.org. In 2018 we were proud to sponsor the Boys and Girls Club of Newburgh’s annual gala.

 

 

YWCA Orange County

In 2016 the YWCA Orange County hosted “BRAzaar brazART, ” an event that we were happy to sponsor and attend. Funds raised from the event helped to support local women in their challenge to fight breast cancer. In addition to hosting events, the YWCA provides important resources for Orange County families. “YWCA Orange County, founded in Newburgh in 1888, has provided leadership opportunities for women for over a century. The YWCA national mission of “eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all” is fulfilled locally through programs addressing economic empowerment, racial justice, women’s health, family support, childcare and community advocacy. The YWCA serves over 5,000 people annually through programs extending throughout Orange County. The YWCA’s two core programming areas are women’s economic empowerment and racial justice.”-YWCA

Precious Paws Inc.

Precious Paws Inc. is a local no-kill, non-profit organization, staffed by volunteers. The organization rescues stray cats and kittens in Orange County, NY. Precious Paws hosts an annual fundraiser, “Pints for Paws” in Newburgh, New York. For several years firm staff volunteered as guest bartenders at the event. This past year Marketing Director, Danielle Mackey, was a guest bartender.
