Yesterday, June 24, authroties were on the scene of a fatal crash that happened between a garbage truck and a tractor trailer in Kiamesha Lake in Sullivan County. The accident occurred on Route 42 in Kiamesha Lake near Fraser Road. The garbage truck driver sustained injuries and the driver of the tractor trailer was killed in the accident. The collision tore off the cab of the tractor trailer as it overturned and slammed up against the front of the garbage truck. Skid marks show that the trailer lost control on a bend in the road near the Har Nof bungalows and crossed the double yellow line into the path of the garbage truck. Both lanes were closed on Route 42 as they cleared the road of the accident.
