$650,000 Settlement : Defective Concrete Repair Causing Fall

Our client’s employer rented a garage that had broken up concrete leading into the garage. After years of complaining, the property owner finally fixed the concrete pad. The problem was, however, rather than call a professional, he did the repair work himself. After one season, the concrete pad was crumbling again. One night after working a full day, on our client’s way out of the garage, the small concrete pebbles caused him to slip and twist his ankle. The twist was so severe he partially tore his Achillies tendon and needed surgery to repair it. It wasn’t until we were halfway into the trial did the insurance company finally make a reasonable offer and the case settled for $650,000.

The trial was handled by Trial Attorneys Michael Shanley and Jeff Brody
