I focus on motion practice, primarily and – most critically – summary judgment motions, in cases involving deprivation of rights, negligence, gross negligence, and wrongful death against nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals.
Because my role centers on motion practice rather than day-to-day case management, my direct communication with clients is generally limited to what’s needed for their motion, primarily affidavits and supporting exhibits.
When nursing home, hospital, and medical malpractice cases reach the point of trial readiness, the defense does everything it can to minimize or dismiss our claims. Nearly every nursing home case we bring results in a summary judgment motion against us, which requires me to prove our case, show that a jury must decide the disputed questions of fact, and demonstrate why the case must survive so that the defendants can be held accountable.
My grandfather was an attorney in private practice in Poughkeepsie, and my mother worked as an attorney for the City of New York’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and served as a 9/11 first responder. As an attorney, I follow in their footsteps, providing services to one of the most vulnerable populations during their most vulnerable years, and making sure their cases get the chance to go to trial.
