Kara L. Campbell is a partner at Finkelstein & Partners, LLP and a highly respected appellate and motion-practice attorney with more than two decades of experience handling complex, high-stakes litigation. Since joining the firm in 2001, Ms. Campbell has served as a cornerstone of the firm’s appellate and dispositive motion practice, shaping litigation strategy and driving results in some of the firm’s most significant cases.
Ms. Campbell has successfully briefed and argued countless critical motions and appeals, many of which have resulted in multimillion-dollar settlements and verdicts. She has secured the reversal of numerous dismissals, reviving cases that ultimately resolved for substantial recoveries on behalf of injured plaintiffs. Her appellate work has not only produced exceptional outcomes for clients, but has also helped shape the application and development of New York law.
One of Ms. Campbell’s appellate victories was featured as “Decision of the Day” in the New York Law Journal, and many of her published decisions are regularly cited for their impact on legal standards and procedural practice throughout New York State. She is widely regarded for her strategic insight, precise legal analysis, and persuasive written advocacy.
In addition to her role at Finkelstein & Partners, Ms. Campbell is Of Counsel to Jacoby & Meyers, LLP and Fine, Olin & Anderman, LLP, and she provides appellate and motion-practice consultation to numerous other law firms. She is frequently retained by fellow attorneys to evaluate complex legal issues, craft dispositive motions, and handle appeals in matters involving significant exposure.
Ms. Campbell also leads the firm’s Veterans Appeals practice, representing veterans before the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims in Washington, D.C. She advocates for veterans seeking disability benefits for injuries and illnesses sustained during military service, ensuring that their claims are properly adjudicated and their rights fully protected.
Additionally, Ms. Campbell handles the firm’s wrongful death proceedings in Surrogate’s Court and oversees all infant compromise settlements, bringing a combination of legal rigor, judicial familiarity, and sensitivity to matters involving families, estates, and vulnerable clients.
