Newburgh Authorities Investigating Fatal Pedestrian/Car Crash

Newburgh, N.Y. – On the evening of Monday, October 26th a 73 year old Walden resident was fatally struck and killed by a vehicle on Rt.32 in the Mill Street vicinity.  The 21-year-old driver, a Newburgh woman, was uninjured in the crash. Route 17 Collision

Route 17 was closed for five hours late Sunday evening following a multi-vehicle collision. According to officials, a man and woman were standing on the driver’s side of their minivan, which was pulled over on Route 17, near exit 124 in the town of Goshen. An oncoming vehicle struck the pair, sending both some 100 feet. 683 Pedestrians Killed in NY Area Over 3 Years – Calls for Better Safeguards

The Tri-State Transportation Campaign is using its new analysis of pedestrian fatalities to call for more and better safeguards. NHTSA data from 2010 through 2012 found that 683 pedestrians were killed in NY’s 12 downstate counties. The addition of New Jersey and Connecticut pushes the number of fatalities to 1,236. Saugerties Man Dies After Being Hit by Vehicle on 9W

A Saugerties man was hit a car yesterday evening and died when he was walking across Route 9W. Patrick Poliseno, 67, was hit northbound by a vehicle driven by Peter Gage, 55.
