The basic eligibility requirements that a Veteran must meet in order to receive Disability Pension Benefits are:

  1. Veteran must be discharged under “other than dishonorable” conditions, and
  2. Veteran served both the minimum period of service as well as during a period of war, and
  3. Veteran’s income is significantly limited and the Veteran does not have the assets or net worth to provide for her/his adequate care, and
    Veteran is over 65, or
  4. Veteran is permanently and totally disabled, and the Veteran’s permanent and total disability is not the result of her/his own willful misconduct.
