Taylor Farms Inc. is located in both Maryland and Texas. On October 25, 2013 the corporation publicly announced the recall of the broccoli salad kits (Contains Dressing) in suspicion that the dressing is potentially contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The salad kits were shipped to deli markets in Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia. Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), the Food and Drug Administartion (FDA), and Taylor Farms Inc.

According to the FDA on October 25, Kraft Foods Group is voluntarily recalling some varieties of its Kraft & Polly-O String Cheese and String Cheese Twists products. These products may spoil before their “Best When Used By” code dates, leading to product discoloration. The affected products all have code dates from October 25, 2013 to February, 11, 2014. 735,000 cases of the affected product were shipped all over the U.S.

General Mills has issued a voluntary Class II recall of a limited quantity of its refrigerated Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls with Icing, according to the FDA. No other flavors have been recalled or any Pillsbury dough products. This product has been recalled due to the possibility of fragments of a broken piece of plastic on the production line. The dough may contain these fragments. These products are sold in grocery stores nationwide.

Chobani is voluntarily recalling their Greek yogurt cups due to the discovery of mold in some cups. Customers reported illnesses on social media sites, which prompted the recall. About one week ago, the company insisted that some of its retailers pull the product from its store shelves, saying that some cups were “swelling and bloating”. They were originally not planning on issuing a recall. Most of the affected products have already been pulled from the shelves.

The source of the widespread stomach bug outbreak has been tracked in at least two states to a Mexican farm that supplied salad mix to Olive Garden and Red Lobster restaurants. On Sunday, the FDA announced that the illnesses in Nebraska and Iowa have been traced to Taylor Farms in Salinas, California. The FDA is still trying to determine if the prepackaged salad mix was the source of infections in the other states.

According to the FDA on July 5, 2013, Whole Foods Market announced that it is recalling Crave Brothers Les Frères cheese in response to a recall by the Crave Brothers Farmstead Cheese Company of Waterloo, Wisconsin. The cheese is being recalled because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

According to the FDA on June 3, Finger Lakes Farmstead Cheese Company LLC of Trumansburg, NY is recalling 12 wheels of GOUDA cheese manufactured on December 20, 2012. he results of U.S. Food and Drug Administration product sampling revealed the presence of GOUDA Cheese contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes Type 1.

300,000 pounds of frozen food recalled as a result of an E. coli scare may have been distributed to schools, according to the company that manufactured the products. Rich Products Corp. has recalled 10 million pounds of frozen food over the course of 2 weeks after 27 E. coli illnesses in 15 different states were reported. The company estimated that at least 3 million pounds of the contaminated  food may still be in the marketplace.
