Injury Information Everyone Should be Aware of

According to the National Safety Council in 2014 136,053 people died as a result of ‘unintentional injury’ related deaths. That equates to over 370 tragedies every day. These figures do not include those seriously or permanently injured due to unintentional injuries.

The National Safety Council provided the top causes of unintentional injuries in homes and communities in the US.  The list includes:

1. Poisoning, the number one cause of unintentional injury-related deaths. This includes prescription drug overdoses.

2. Car Crashes, the second leading cause of unintentional injury-related deaths. Causes include but are not limited to impaired driving, distracted driving, and failure to obey traffic laws.

3. Fall down accidents are the third leading cause of injury-related deaths and is the number one cause of death for those over 71.

The list also includes choking and suffocation, drowning, fires, and environmental incidents. Sadly every day we hear the tragic stories of those who were hurt or killed in completely preventable situations. If you suffered because of someone else’s negligence contact us today, we may be able to help you seek legal compensation.
