Blaze Claims Albany Co. Family Home in the Blink of an Eye

A family of five woke to a terrifying scene in the early morning hours of Sunday, January 24th.

Emergency officials rushed to the family home after neighbors reported a home completely engulfed in flames.  The entire family was still inside the house.

Firefighters were able to rescue all members of the family. Thankfully all survived the fire, however several did sustain injuries/burns and are currently hospitalized.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.

Calling all Albany Count Residents:

“If you would like to drop off clothes for the victims you can do so at the McKownville FD at 1250 Western Ave in Guilderland.

Any clothing (new or used) will help this family in need. One is a kid’s size 7 with a shoe size of kid’s 13. The other is about a size 4/5 and shoe size kid’s 11. This family lost everything in this devastating fire and are desperate for help. The children are both boys, ages 5 and 6.” – ABC News 10
