Upstate New Yorkers, Uber Explained
What is Uber?
Uber is an app based ride sharing service. With a click of a button you can request a ride, chose your livery vehicle, view a photo of your driver & pay your fare. Uber is currently in 482 cities worldwide.
How Does Uber Work?
You'll need an internet connection and a debit/credit card, cash payments are not accepted. The service has features that many cabs don't, like the ability to track your ride & to rate your driver. Prices are often comparable to cab fair.
Too Good To be True?
There are varying factors that critics identify as flaws in the Uber system. Perhaps the most pressing issue is driver insurance minimum requirements. It's crucial that drivers obtain adequate insurance coverage to protect passengers and other motors in the event there is a crash. This issue is still being debated.
