May Marks Motorcycle Awareness Month

The statistics regarding the number of motorcycle crashes that result in injury or death are staggering. This month, motorists are reminded to “share the road with motorcycles.”

The initiative encourages dual efforts on the parts of motorcycles and automobiles. Those in automobiles are reminded to be mindful of motorcycles, while motorcyclists are encouraged to make sure they are visible to other motorists.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration also urges motorcyclists to stay sober, wear a helmet and complete safe motorcycle rider training.
