Holiday Season

For many of us the holiday season is a joyous, but hectic time. It is our goal at Finkelstein & Partners to remain connected to our community and give back to those in need. Property owners who fail to remove snow and ice from their walkways cause serious injuries every winter. The city of Albany has implemented a new snow removal policy that will help to keep residents safe and reduce the risk of fall down injuries. pearl harbor remembrance day

On December 7th, 1941, 2,403 American citizens were killed during the attack on Pearl Harbor. In addition to those who lost their lives another 1,178 people were injured in the attack. 

More than twenty years ago the United States Congress designated December 7th as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.

Today, and every day we are eternally grateful for the bravery and selflessness of American service members and their families.

According to the most recent statistics, in just one year an estimated 15,000 injuries involving holiday decorating were treated during the holiday season.  The National Safety Council’s ‘12 Days of Safety’ is a fun and easy way to stay safe this holiday season. New Yorkers

For many New Yorkers, space heaters are a popular and effective way to beat the cold during the frigid winter months but, if used improperly, can easily become a fire risk. According to the National Fire Protection Association even though only 32% of home heating-related fires are started by a space heater, almost 80% of home heating fire deaths involve space heaters.

Nursing home abuse

Physical abuse in nursing home facilities is defined as the use of force against a person that results in physical pain, injury or impairment. Besides physical assault such as pushing, shoving and hitting, it also includes the inappropriate use of restraints and drugs, as well as confinement.
