Why Millennials Have Been Labeled the Worst Drivers on the Road

Approximately ¼ of the U.S. population falls under the ‘millennial’ category. According to Wikipedia, millennials are considered “the demographic cohort following Generation X. There are no precise dates for when this cohort starts or ends; demographers and researchers typically use the early 1980s as starting birth years and the mid-1990s to early 2000s as ending birth years.”

The millennial demographic has collectively made great strides in the U.S. and abroad, their contributions have changed the way much of our society functions. Although millennials are paving the way for a more educated, healthy, and maybe even happy society, they have been deemed the ‘worst drivers on the road.’

“A new report from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety found that 88 percent of young millennials engaged in at least one risky behavior behind the wheel in the past 30 days, earning the top spot of worst behaved U.S. drivers. These dangerous behaviors ― which increase crash risk ― included texting while driving, red-light running and speeding.”
